Education Calendar

We are pleased to announce the workshop lineup for the Research Education program starting this September 2011 and ending in June 2012.

There are a total of 19 different workshops to choose from.  These workshops are designed to train FH employees on how to conduct research from start to finish.  We have our Research 101 workshop which provides an orientation on how you can conduct research in FH and many other tips and trick to help you on your way for your first research project.  It’s also a great way to understand the support and services that DERS offers to all FH employees.

Then, we have more specialized courses on survey development, organizing focus groups and interviews, building research teams, analyzing data, etc.  These workshops were designed in partnership with Library Services, Medical Education, Pharmacy Services, Professional Practice and Integration, and Workplace Health.

In Fraser Health, there are currently over 820 studies (clinical and non-clinical) that have been conducted to date and currently over 220 that are active.  Attendance at these workshops can help FH meet its Strategic Imperative to increase the number of FH employees that lead and participate in research teams and realize its mission to be the best in health care.

Come to our workshops as the starting point for your research project.  Anyone is welcome to attend and you can pick and choose whichever workshops you’re interested in.  You don’t need to have any research experience at all.  If you have a great idea on how to improve our patient care that needs research, we can help you.
