OngoingProgram Evaluation Workshop Series: November 2011 – June 2012

This workshop series will cover program evaluation theory, methods, and practice. This will be presented through an assignment based approach designed to familiarize participants with the process of planning an evaluation. The assignments will require teams/individuals to work through a variety of approaches to an evaluation plan that addresses an existing workplace need.

Goals

  • Prepare participants to be effective as a member of an evaluation planning/working group through developing awareness of the processes, resources, methods, evaluation standards, and timelines involved in evaluation planning and implementation
  • Develop competency as a novice evaluator through a hands on approach to studying evaluation methods and related literature, and using this knowledge to analyze existing approaches to program evaluation planning and findings
  • Develop a “portfolio” of approaches to evaluating an existing workplace need.

The material presented in each session will prepare participants to complete monthly evaluation planning assignments. The training provides “just in time” content to allow each team/individual to master the concepts required to complete that portion of their evaluation “portfolio”.
